Cookies A cookie is a small text file stored on a user's computer by a website so personal preferences are remembered on future visits. Cookies are used most often at e-commerce websites like Amazon.com or eBay.com. They can save you time by automatically "remembering" personal information you previously gave the website when making an online purchase. Cookies can't carry a virus or interfere with any of the other files on your computer. The majority of Web browsers accept cookies, but the “help” menu on your browser should give you options for preventing, accepting or receiving notice of new cookies.
Log Files Log files are transaction records maintained on web servers to record information such as:
Service provider IP addresses
Browser versions
Referring Web sites
Search terms used
Average number of pages visited
Average duration of visit
Total visitor traffic
Log files gather information for aggregate use and cannot personally identify a visitor.
IP Addresses An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer when you access the Internet. IP addresses allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with one another. We collect IP address information to properly administer our system. The information enables us to gain aggregate knowledge of our visitors and how they use the site (to determine, for example, which pages are viewed most often). Aggregate information is not shared with SleepHealth vendors. To maintain your anonymity, we do not associate IP addresses with records containing personal information.
